Okay.. forget about Anwar Ibrahim, Pak Lah and Tok Najib. That one got no ending story one... Couple days ago my streamyx line got problem (it always have an issues when talk about the speed, but this time langsung can not connect at all). Skip the part of complaining and make a report to the service centre. Means today I have to admit that my stremyx line got going to be repaired until tomorrow because it is on Sunday. My last option is... Maxis Broadband. I got HSDPA coverage in my house but since I'm stay at the first floor, so the connection is not so stable. Sometimes got HSDPA sometimes got UMTS and the worse scenario, GPRS (about 56kbps connection). But this shit can't even load a Maybank2u page. Back to our lovely one so called the only option for reliable broadband, streamyx (which is getting more popular with the new name, tmnut screamyx). This 1Mbps connection can't even support to fulfill the single usage. I wonder how does that 10 years ago we can run a cybercafé with this dial-up connection. During that time all cybercafé in Shah Alam running on dial-up connection. They can even support 30 - 40 PCs. Me also running a Cybercafé at Chini called 'NewBorn Planet' with my brothers. The usage almost similar like currently we have. Maybe during that time got no online gaming and torrent, but we got KaZaa, morpheus, audio galaxy, napster and other peer-to-peer program that time remember? We do chatting, multiple-browse surfing, download mp3s through mIRC etc. Imagine.. it's a dial up brotha! As far as I'm remember, got only 1 cybercafé using ISDN (384kbps). Everybody goes to that CC bringing zip disk (thick size floppy that can only read by zip drive) to save song list that been downloaded. I still remember during one hour we manage to download from 50 to 90 mp3s. Now I'm sitting in front of my PC with 1024kbps connection and I'm still cannot watch youtube video smoothly.. What tha hack?! For those who have experience with dial-up internet 10 years ago, and if your computer still got internal modem, just try it. Using your phone line and dial to 1311 (no need internet account, it will be charged in your telephone bill) than try experience it. It might be true if someone said we might feel it slow because we already feel the faster version one. But guys, I have try to connect via 1311 dial-up and I can only browse 1 web at a time. Not even open my Yahoomessanger or browsing multiple pages at the same time (checking my email + open maybank2u). What happen? 56kbps now not even as the same as 56kbps 10 years ago lor.. Laju kan? kat negara sendiri. Jaguh kampung la katakan. Tak yah gi jauh sangat. Baru kat jakarta jer dah reduce 4X ganda. Ni antara server amerika yg aku leh ping. yang lain semua not responding terus! As you guys notice, there's too much different between browsing local web and international web. If you open the website that been host locally, sure it will be fast. That's why when talk to the service centre they will ask me to open tm.net official page and use their speedometer test. But guys, I don’t surf Malaysia sites most of the time. I have to visit YouTube, have to visit MySpace that are hosted in the USA, even my Un'Me website also hosted in USA. Then I try to ping Los Angeles. Know what, I have to wait almost 15 minutes but still the ping fail to complete. It's not only Los Angeles, seems like we also have extremely slow connection on San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Jose etc. Must take into consideration... there's more than 172million sites has been hosted in USA. If you search on keywords ‘tmnut screamyx’ you will find more than 200 pages of result on google. This can be considered as a group of people who frustrated of streamyx performance and I really hope that tmnet will do something on it. People complain for a reason. No points of saying you have a 2mbps, 4mbps or even 10mbps package. 1mbps should be enough if it performs as it should be. Or else, people will pay 4mbps price for 1mbps speed. No good la kawan…P/s: Got rumours from someone who work in celcom, said that even Celcom Broadband also got problem right now. Hah! Whats the different.. they are all under one roof what...? read more for more pictures.
